Rotary EZ - MAY 2006 (2)
Rotary LEZ progress as of May 2006.
Hanger Time (3)
Finally moved the Rotary EZ into its hanger at LCH in Lake Charles, LA. I needed more room to attach the wings and canard for final installation. Getting closer.
New Canard
(2) I am grateful to have Marty Martindale as a friend to help me with my LEZ project. Marty was the first to build a Roncz Canard and even had Burt and Mike there to evaluate his work. Marty is also featured in the CP's. Marty insisted we build one for my LEZ project and agreed to help. My first flight in a LEZ was with Marty. |
New Shop (3)
I tried to finish the LEZ in the hanger but the heat, bugs, smell and traffic proved to be too much. I built a 16 X 24 shop in the backyard that is perfect for completing the LEZ. Did I mention it's air conditioned.
PANEL - AVIONICS (1)
The panel is almost complete just a few more items.
ROTARY ENGINE (5)
I installed a normaly aspirated Mazda 13 B rotary engine built by Bruce T. of Rotary Resources. It has a RD-1C Tracy Crook redrive and an IVO Magnum inflight adjustable 3 bladed prop. The engine is also controlled by Tracy's EC2 controller and monitored by his EM2.
MODIFICATIONS (4)
Modifications:
Jack W. electric nose wheel retract with 90 kt actuator and nose strut bearing.
